For people who book lymphatic massages and facials

Why does your lymphatic massage therapist start at your neck?

Because the fluid in your face drains down through your neck and out just above your collarbone, and a tight neck slows it down. Hizoo works the back and sides of your neck, the step your therapist does first, for 10 minutes every night at home, so you wake up less puffy between appointments. It costs $199 once.

What your therapist does first

Your therapist starts at your neck because that's where your face drains.

Before a lymphatic massage therapist touches your face, they work on your neck and the spot just above your collarbone. That's the way out for the fluid in your face. Moving fluid around your cheeks doesn't get it far if the way out is slow.

About a third of your lymph nodes are in your head and neck. Gray's Anatomy says all the lymph vessels of the head and neck drain to the deep cervical nodes, which run down the sides of your neck.

"So we always start at the neck."
Lymphedema physical therapist, MD Anderson Cancer Center

The NHS self-drainage leaflet for the head and neck also starts with the neck and collarbone, before the face. MD Anderson, the NHS and Gray's Anatomy aren't affiliated with Hizoo.

What Hizoo does

Hizoo works the back and sides of your neck while you lie back for 10 minutes. Four kneading nodes and warmth up to 42°C (107°F) loosen the tight muscles there, so the fluid in your face can drain and you wake up less puffy.

Therapists bought one for themselves, too.

Your therapist's hands

Is it as good as my therapist's hands?

A good therapist's hands are better than any massager, Hizoo included. But you see your therapist once a week or once a month, and the fluid in your face builds up again every night. Hizoo is there on the nights in between.

Keep your appointments if you love them. On the other nights, lie back on Hizoo for 10 minutes and finish with the kind of light strokes toward your collarbone that your therapist uses.

Between appointments

You know how your face looks the morning after a good session. With Hizoo every night, more of your mornings look like that.

  1. Lie back on Gentle for 10 minutes

Rest your neck in Hizoo on your bed or sofa, with the nodes just below the base of your skull. Turn on the warmth and choose Gentle. It turns itself off after 10 minutes.

  2. Finish with your hands for 30 seconds

Stroke lightly down the sides of your neck, press softly a few times just above your collarbone, then sweep your face out toward your ears. It's the same order your therapist follows, neck first and then the face.

  3. Keep your appointments

See your therapist as often as you like. Hizoo keeps the puffiness down on the nights in between.

What changes
  • You wake up less puffy on the days you don't have an appointment.
  • Your face looks like yours on a Monday morning, too.
  • Your jawline still shows in photos a week after your session.
  • You stop counting the days until your next booking.

Of the reviewers who said when they noticed a difference in their face, most said within about a week. Some saw it the next morning.

Questions

Questions from people who already book sessions

If yours isn't here, email support@hizoo.co or chat with us. Real people on our team answer.

Should I stop seeing my therapist?

There's no need. Keep your appointments if you love them. Hizoo is for the nights in between, when the fluid in your face builds back up.

My therapist uses very light pressure. Isn't kneading too strong?

Use the Gentle setting. Gentle pressure moves lymph better than hard pressure, and the warmth helps the tight muscles in your neck relax. The light strokes come at the end, in the 30-second hand finish.

Does it work on my face too?

Hizoo works on the back and sides of your neck, which is where your face drains. Your hands do the face in the 30-second finish, with light strokes down your neck, a few soft presses above your collarbone and a sweep out toward your ears.

How often should I use it?

Every night, for 10 minutes. The fluid in your face builds up again every night while you sleep, so it works best as a habit, like brushing your teeth.

How fast will I see a difference?

Of the reviewers who said when they noticed a difference in their face, most said within about a week. Some saw it the next morning. Many people feel their neck loosen up the very first night.

Does it hurt?

It shouldn't. If your neck is tight, the kneading can feel strong the first few times, so start on Gentle. You can slip a thin pillowcase over it if you'd like it softer. It gets more comfortable as your neck loosens up.

Is it safe?

Yes. Hizoo is FCC, CE and RoHS certified, and its battery is UN38.3 tested. The warmth goes up to 42°C (107°F), and it turns itself off after 10 minutes, so it won't keep running if you fall asleep on it.

Can my partner use it too?

Yes, and couples tend to end up sharing it. Mike S. wrote, "It would seem we’re lovingly fighting over who can use it, next!" Two Hizoos are $359, which is $179.50 each, so you can each have your own.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Email support@hizoo.co within 30 days of delivery, and we'll send you a return label. Once it arrives back with us, we refund your card, minus $15 for return shipping. Normal use is fine, so you can use it every night while you decide.
